I use Technorati too the maximum as they tend to drive lots of traffic to my site, however recently I have run into problems with traffic because it turns out my results in Technorati are old. Below is my story.
I understand that I have performed all the right steps e.g. claimed my blog, I ping (ping-o-matic, plus others) every post I make, tag every post too. Technorati claim to check my blog every couple hours or so but when I do a search my content is 7 days old in some cases. None of the new content is available. And today I have actually tried to add searches to my ‘watchlist’ and they say the search has be added but nothing shows up even after a refresh. I even got signed out once or twice while trying to add searches to my ‘watchlist’. Now even as I write this I am trying to delete a watchlist item (that suddenly appeared) and it refuses, causing error messages then reverting back to yesterdays watchlist and then back again. ![]()
Its just bizarre. At one point I even got so desperate (I miss lots of traffic if things go wrong with them) update their data on me that I deleted my blog from my Technorati account and re-claimed it. Still nothing happened.
Has anyone else seen this problem before, or understands why this is suddenly a problem.
Great services that appear to be putting out good consistent results requiring little to no effort of bloggers:
Sphere, Ask/Bloglines (very new read about it), and Google’s Blog Search.
06 June 2006 Update: According to Derek Jones a fellow blogger Technorati is working on the problem.
