XOXO vs OPML?? Criticism

Comments

I read a post earlier today from Vecosys that mentioned a new microformat XOXO (new as in I hadn’t heard of it yet). I think microformats are a valuable tool so I like to read up when I hear of new developments.

So I went to a few places:

After all that searching I am uncertain of the value of XOXO. However, I am hopeful this is a result of poor communication. The content feels too geeky, and any ‘value’ statements are completely absent.

Whenever I read about new technologies I always like to talk about how they apply to businesses, where the value is, costs, etc. With the information available on XOXO it just requires much ‘geekier’ person than I to communicate the value as I just don’t see it.

Celik I encourage you to assign someone to this section and clear up or add some documentation that is less tech talk and more user/business/application talk. Oh and one last thing, the XOXO blog is horrific to experience. I would be embarrassed to show or refer to it in a professional context.

Just my thoughts.
