Jotspot launches Version 2

by Roger Kondrat on July 24, 2006

According to CNet news Jotspot a maker of commercial Wiki’s and customised, prebuilt for purpose Wikis is releasing this Monday morning (exact time unknown) version 2 of the web service.

As well they have begun beta testing of a Downloadable version of their Wiki web service.  Joe Kraus, JotSpot CEO says this is due to customers requests to keep proprietary/competitive data on in-house servers.  Totally understandable and logical really, its good to see them moving in this direction.
I have alluded to and posted on JotSpot in the past (JotSpot Post)and continue to believe they are doing wonderful things.  I appreciate Joe Kraus’s name dropping about their big customers HP and Symantec (found on the Beta downloaded about software webpage) but as was alluded to in CNet JotSpots bread and butter is still Small and Medium size enterprise at least until they get the webserver out of Beta.

I wish JotSpot luck but I hope their new ‘enterprise’ focused product doesn’t mean the end of a really great service for small and medium business’s.
