This weeks roundup is a video

Comments

Decided to get on board with this whole video blogging thing and make my weekly roundup posts into a video. Its a little more fun, more conversational, and gives you the reader a chance to see the guy behind TechWinter.

Todays show I am going to talk about:

  1. What is Web 2.0 and Social Media?
  2. Participants versus Fans in Web 2.0
  3. Googles purchase of DoubleClick
  4. LG Shine is out and finally in 3G

Enjoy the show and above all else comment, ask questions, shout your opinion. I love it! :)

Techwinter: Weekly Roundup Episode 1 - 21042007

PS. I know there is no nice beginning but iMovie kept crashing when I had the intro and exit clips. Don’t know why, but next week when I am in London I will have a heart to heart with the Apple Store staff about the problem. Hopefully the videos will get a bit of ‘window dressing’ before too long. But remember nothing can fix that damned ugly guy doing the talking! :))

Roger, I actually agree with you. Social media is not web 2.0 or vice versa. I mentioned that, ultimately it is the "buzz" that makes any web 2.0 app/portal successful - its widespread integration into other services or creation of other services based on it. But, again, the "buzz" is not possible without a "community" of people adopting it and discussing it.

I did not mention microformats and semantic search - which are also fundamental to web 2.0 apps/portals. thanks for mentioning it in the video!

    Hi Divya

Well I did say if we didn't agree it would be about interpretation not core :)

I am glad you liked the video, I am pretty green at them so if you got something out of it that is always good.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by 'the house' (home on the web).

    Rog
