OpenID, lot more to happen

A friend of mine pointed me to Clickpass other day, he was querying if OpenID solution as provided by ClickPass can be used to develop a potential product.

Clickspass provides a nice ‘OpenId’ gateway to use Clickpass username for various sites, you can also enable Clickpass for your applications/sites. They are the “front runner” in making OpenID to reach masses. But let’s think strategically, will OpenID big boys Google, Verisign, Yahoo, Microsoft, IBM allow an entrant to map the whole web having millions of user information? Will they ever like?

If not, will Clickpass get more adaption by developer & business community?

Having Clickpass id associated with multiple sites, Clickpass need a “robust” security, otherwise it will be target of hackers. The same is true for any web application now but for Clickpass to gain more adaption, security is No 1 agenda.

There are few more players in this game like Vidoop.

OpenID is bound to create more confusions, more choice, may be there will be non-profit consortium providing OpenID solution, may be there will be variations?

What do you think & suggest OpenId should do ?
