Netvibes - Ginger is out (kinda)

Comments

The long awaited Ginger enhancement to Netvibes is finally meeting the public with current users (slowly) getting a chance to ‘upgrade’, eventually Ginger will be fully integrated and available to everyone regardless of whether they are current users or newbies.

JAJAH and Netvibes Ginger

Ginger is a major improvement over the current release in many ways, also it could be seen as a refinement of many of the initiatives that Netvibes started so long ago such as Netvibes Universe.

Netvibes a French-based web service actually started out as hard-core RSS reader then expanded to a custum ‘homepage’ service (all the rage 2+ years ago) then it went hard-core into widgetising its interface which thinking back put them at the leading edge of that phenomenon as well since they were among the first to make a big push into widgets (as I recollect).

If you are a Netvibes user then you already know a bit about Ginger but if you are not then you may want to take a look at Netvibes if you have not done so or did but was unimpressed.  The Ginger enhancement is significant, making the User-Interface much easier to navigate, the over-all look and feel is fun, easy and much much sexier to look at than ever before also if it has been a year or longer since you checked them out you will notice that there are a great many more tools/widgets available.

Go check Netvibes out and let us know what you think… Also there is a really great review by Ars Technica
