Twitter - A user question
Date Published: March 24th, 2008
I recently got back into Twitter and it was if I may say so quite a long hiatus from the service and my question to everyone is which Twitter client do you use? And if you use your mobile how often and is it ‘convenient’? Also I am curious about how other bloggers use Twitter to help or support your blogging?
As the perpetrator of these questions I thought I would answer them myself first. I tried many of the clients available for my Mac laptop and I feel that Twhirl provides the best overall experience.
Twhirl is an Adobe Air application which means it is cross-platform so while I am at work (on a PC) or at home on my Mac laptop it is the exact same user-experience.
Admittedly Twhirl probably is not the most feature rich but it has the least number of problems by far and for me that is the most important. Also Twhirl lets me cross-post to Pownce which I ‘feel’ is actually a better product but unfortunately just doesn’t have critical mass in the market like Twitter does.

As far as mobile goes I have never been able to activate my mobile (Nokia E61i) on Twitter so I really never use it that way but I know others do and I wondered if you used an application or if you just texted in your Twitters.
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!!

I recently switched from Snitter to Twhirl because Snitter started acting up. I also liked to try something new I guess.
At home, I'm still on OS 10.3.9 so I have to make do with something called TwitterPost, but it's okay.
As for mobile use, I have direct messages on (always) and sometimes switch the service on when I'm out for the night. I have marked a few dozen or so people as 'notifications on' so I only get their tweets on my phone, not all my contacts. That way I'm not swamped.
I do tweet a lot from my phone though, notably when I'm on the bus or something.

I am glad you like Twirl and yeah I hear you sometimes I just need to switch too.
On the train or bus I actually have my most peaceful time reading or texting. Its the closest thing to having free-time and I love it so I totally agree with you that it would be a good tweet time.
Cheers
