We are talking TechCrunch it seems today

Date Published: April 4th, 2008

I do not often read TechCrunch, as I feel there are already many who do and using them for my research into what is new and happening would just make me and my team a bunch of me-toos and that is hardly adding value, isn’t it?

Anyway the reason I am going talk about them today is for two reasons, 1) last night I talked with a friend about a startup idea (I will not disclose it) and raised a great deal of privacy concerns and as casual as I can be with my own Privacy I am very hard core about protecting others, 2) I finally got a chance to read that article Arrington wrote about suing Facebook “Why We’re Suing Facebook For $25 Million In Statutory Damages“.

Reading the article so soon after my discussion last night was too much and I have a strong need to vent.

This is wrong, it is wrong to take someone’s image, likeness, name or any other individual means of individuality and use it without their permission.  I disagree with the Paparazzi, I disagree with what Facebook is doing/done, and I totally and completely think that Michael should sue their Privacy Chief for damaging his (probably) Giorgio Armani suit.

Honestly if I was Michael, I would bury Facebook, and not back off.  Come on Mike you know you can go many rounds with the money you got, do not let them off the hook over this, because this is not just this one case and you know it.  In this matter you represent the rest of us and our interests and it is important that you take that ‘leadership’ role you so calmly and cockily hold seriously and step up.

Sincerely
Roger
