London freesheet launches with Webjam
Just a few days ago (April 11) TheOtherSide a new freesheet (lingo for free magazine) launched on the NortherLine (that is a London underground rail line) providing travellers there with edgier content.
According to Marketing Week;
“The Other Side says that it will target a more “culturally aware and Web 2.0″ audience than rivals thelondonpaper and London Lite.”
Online TheOtherSide launched an online community with Webjam Europe’s premier Community 2.0 webservice. Partnering with Webjam will allow TheOtherSide to build a strong online community where their readers and writers will be able to enjoy two communication creating vibrant discussions on hot topics.
The site and the paper will include news, opinion, reviews and listings.
BrandRepublic quoted Lassman Watts as saying;
‘The Other Side is all about bringing people together and allowing them to play an active part in how the magazine develops and is used, not just drip-feeding Londoners with the same old titbits.’
With Webjam as their partner TheOtherSide could end up publishing some of their readers comments, write about topics the community are most interested in and innovate the magazine based on feedback. This should be a interesting partnership to watch and could be a key point in proving the long-term potential of Webjam as a provider of choice for online / offline partnerships with traditional offline media / content providers.
Is this the first of many partnerships with offline media providers? Will this partnership dramatically impact the future of Webjam? Good or bad?
