UK News: O2 finally joins the Mobile Broadband party

Date Published: April 22nd, 2008

Recently O2 announced they finally joined the rest of UK’s mobile networks in offering mobile broadband.

They are offering to current O2 customers a flat-rate £20/month with or without a contract but with the caveat of allowing only 3GB/month with a charge of £0.20/MB once you go over that maximum. Also users get unrestricted (unconfirmed) access to the Clouds extensive UK WiFi network.

This deal is good value if you compare it to their competitors for current customers but for those of you not on O2 the price rises to an incredible £30/month. £30/month is pretty steep so I don’t imagine O2 will earn many friends but they may do well at keeping them at least until Three cuts their prices again and cause further deterioration in the price of mobile broadband.
