MyKinda goes bye bye?

Date Published: April 23rd, 2008

Ever heard of MyKinda?  Well they ‘were’ a “Blog Network” startup out of Romania that due to their early association with Sam Sethi got loads of negative press from TechCrunch and their relatives.

Well looks like they are gone (and I am the last to find out).  Apparently TechCrunch covered it in February, which makes sense since they only have their homepage and all other instances of their website are gone.

What is it with these ‘entrepreneurs’ if that is even a fair name to describe them? Do they have no business commonsense?  There is no money in this business unless you measure your audiences in the 10s of thousands at the minimum. It takes time to create and build those audiences.

Sure most of the big guys get help but most of them got their start working their butts off and never sleeping for some that is still the case.  I often even wonder what is Scoble’s life really like from the inside!  I wake up and there are two dozen twits and six posts from him and I am still looking for my morning coffee.

Lee’s (Lee Wilkins owner of MyKinda) Twitter profile is gone now too.

What do you think of blog networks?  Is there already enough commentary out there?  Do you think MyKinda will get resurrected?

Looking at your profile it has the normal bullshit "internet media expert" but you have never actually tired to start a company or raise funds. i.e put your neck, reputation and wallet on the line.

But having never achieved anything in your life you still think you have a valid point of view.

I always find it amusing when people say something 'harsh' while taking full advantage of their anonymity as you have done John Doe.

Also I am not really sure you know what you are talking about as clearly you cannot spell firstly (petty but true), and secondly, I doubt you looked closely at my profile as there is definitely some indications on there of my risk taking and relevant experience.

What is not 100% clear on my profile is that I have started 4 companies each of which produced healthy incomes and one of which I sold for a nice profit.

I wish you all the best John Doe but really, how childish to take a stab at someone while wearing a mask.

    Kind regards
    Roger
