Gadgets: New HD Camcorders, Green Mobiles and Fuel Cells

Comments

JVC has announced two new camcorders this time they are replacing their old Christmas HD units with 80GB and 160GB models. If you are looking at camcorders then you know that not all HD is the same some are 720p and some are the more advanced 1080p. To those who don’t know 720p is way better than TV and 1080p is so amazing your wall could be one giant TV and the image would still look pretty damned amazing.

Samsung…Genepax….

A couple further interesting tid-bits on these camcorders and that is they use both AVCHD and MPEG-2 recording formats so its up the user which they prefer as both have their benefits, and they also are able to use microSD memory for recording not just for still pictures.

Samsung has launched two new ‘green’ phones the W510 and F268 which they said are made from bio-plastic, additionally as you may have started hearing often these new ‘gadgets’ e.g. iPhone, laptops, mobiles, etc all contain toxic materials such as Cadmium to which Samsung has in some cases eliminated with these phones. Good for you Samsung!

Japanese company Genepax comes up with new Fuel Cell that requires fewer exotic materials, no pressurised tank and a durability that far exceeds currently available or demonstrated fuel cells. They recently did a demonstration for an audience showing off a 120W and 300W version. Plans are being drawn up for 1kw systems to be mass produced for cars and houses and they believe their system may even be more cost effective than solar panels in the near future. Good luck Genepax as your work and those of your peers will save the world my children will one day grow up in.
