BGR always has the latest in sneak peaks and leaks on products particularly mobile phones and as the iPhone has been released there really is only two more big mobile announcements we expect this year, one of them being the Blackberry 9500 (aka Thunder).

The BlackBerry Thunder, as it is codenamed now, (all you “reporting” on it as the Storm are incorrect) will launch in Q3 of this year. It is a full touchscreen BlackBerry — no slide out keyboard — with only 4 physical keys. Those are the send / end phone keys, the BlackBerry menu key, and the back key. Here is the most interesting part, though: it will launch as a worldwide lifetime exclusive on Verizon and Vodafone!

Also a recent article by Electricpig.tv suggests that BB won’t be developing Visual Voicemail for their product but Verizon their partner will be and it will be a network-wide service with most future mobiles on their network having the feature.  Looks like Verizon doesn’t want to loose out on their call display type revenue.

I am super excited about the new BB Thunder and look forward to waiting until it hits shop windows before I make a buying decision.  Hopefully they will offer better bluetooth and camera features which are some of the big reasons I did not get an iPhone.
