Everyday I open up Twhirl, Gmail, FF, Blog, and whatever else I have going and these are the tools I keep open no matter where I am or what I am doing. And I just keep running out of space. It is actually very stressful, I have information coming in but I can’t position it into priority like I can email and I can’t respond to it like email either.
Twhirl just beeps away and I check it when I can and comment when I can, FF is going full steam ahead and it is a constant challenge there because someone may have replied to your comment from yesterday but there is no chance under the deluge of information that a) you would be able to find that conversation as you probably commented many times a day as I do, b) you don’t have a reason to go back since it is likely no one may have commented on your comment, c) you can’t find your comment because there are 20-30 and since they aren’t threaded you have no chance - like finding a needle in a haystack…d), e)…

My Desktop or at least 80% of it that is chewed up by social media communication tools.
I could go on but really I think I have made my point. Instantly I need a screen that is double the size so I am not racing back and forth creating stress because of an inefficient workflow. The other issue is workflow, it is no where near efficient enough to even contemplate any of these tools going mainstream until that is fixed. I don’t know anyone other than me and my peers that is not literally horrified by what they see when I am working at 70% never mind 100%. The tools need to improve - DRAMATICALLY.
So a big shout out to Loic, you hold the most advanced client for social media communication probably in the world, what are you going to do about this problem? What are your plans to make life easier on us?
Shout out to my fellow developers, designers, innovators and inventors STOP CREATING and start innovating because all the technology we have is so unrefined and so rough we are YEARS away from having anything truely useful.
Even now we talk about how Twitter is really growing (while we groan about its errors and failures), but Twitter is nothing, not even a spec of dust on the window compared to what is on the Internet. Lets get real, Twitter could come and go in a heartbeat and no one would notice… No One. Oh perhaps you and I be who are we?
Yahoo has 132,000,000 visitors every month and they are struggling to find themselves, Twitter has 2,000,000. Twitter could grow at 300% or more a year for 5 years and no one would notice them until year 6.

Look how big Twitter is compared to what is mainstream.
Make my screen bigger, make my laptop lighter, make my batter last 4-6x longer (minimum), then while you are at it improve the applications we have, integrate them properly, make them seamless like a Debit card then we can talk about the next generation of applications.
My rant for the month.
