Yamaha Motor aims to achieve 10 % market share in the scooters segment in India this year as against around 7 % at present. So, the the company announced the launch of new Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter for Indian market. The motorcycle market in India has been seen a demand of 16 million units in 2015, which is anticipated to grow to approximately 19 million units in 2018.

The company has only three scooter variants in its portfolio currently — Alpha, Fascino and Ray Z: priced between Rs. 49,400 and Rs. 53,300. This new Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter from Yamaha gets a very new exterior design that is characterized by a sense of dynamism and layered form.

Talking about the specifications of Ray-ZR, the scooter is powered by an air-cooled SOHC, 4-stroke, 2-valve 113cc “BLUE CORE” engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) unit. The all new Ray-ZR features a lightweight body (103 kg) with glamorous design and offers user-friendliness.

The main features of Cygnus Ray-ZR includes Tubeless tyres, plenty of storage space (21-litre under seat storage) with a newly designed instrument cluster with excellent readability, even at night and the scooter gets an engine with high combustion efficiency to the offer among the best fuel efficiency in its class at 66 kmpl (under standard test conditions)

The new Yamaha model comes in 2 eye-catching colors for its disk brake model to fulfill the needs of trend-conscious young riders. It will also be available in 2 different colors for its drum brake variant
